Activities
Our 9th annual BBQ contest will take
place in Historic Downtown Excelsior Springs. The beautiful Hall of Waters,
in the heart of downtown, will serve as the judging area and turn-in
location for our competition. Local business owners
would like to invite you to visit our unique shops, restaurants, and
saloon that align The Historic Hall of Waters
District.
If our guests are in need of a hotel for your
visit, we recommend the Historic
Elms Resort and
Spa.
The Elms has offered a special BBQ rate for our

The BBQ on the River and Fly In committee is proud
to continue to bring you the biggest festival in
Excelsior Springs.
Because of our continued support of our local
heroes and the Military, we are proud to have our
branches of service
recognized
at our contest.
The Apache Helicopter will take flight in
support of our contest and land nearby for all to
see.
Along with the Military activities, we will be giving rides on the Remax Hot Air
Balloon, a performance by the Willie Arthur
Smith’s
Marching Cobras, live performances by The Salem Road
Band, Twisted Rootz Band and JD and the Chasers
Band,
food vendors, novelty vendors, and a beer and
wine garden. For the young BBQ enthusiasts, we have a
special kids area
with inflatable rides and a dunk
tank.
 
 
Local business owners will stay open late to
enable our guests to take advantage of their one of
a kind wares and offer discounts at their unique
shops.
This years event is sure to be an action packed,
family event.
